“ESG is a dangerous investment scheme.” ~ Marlo Oaks, testifying before U.S. House Committee on Ways and Means
Our Hero of the Week is Utah State Treasurer Marlo Oaks, who has been sounding the alarm about the threat of ESG (environmental, social, and governance) standards and natural asset companies (NACs).
A devoted husband and father, Oaks stands out among current state treasurers for his experience in managing institutional investments. Prior to entering government service, he managed institutional portfolios at Farmers Insurance ($24 billion) and later at Intermountain Healthcare ($7.5 billion), where he also supervised the Treasury function.
Oaks has emerged as one of the state treasurers committed to safeguarding economic freedoms. He has been actively opposing the weaponization of ESG and is now leading an effort to have the comment period on new rules related to NACs extended by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
Check out the Letters section on his State Treasurer website.
