As you listen, check out the News Trends & Stories section of the 2019 Annual Wrap Up web presentation, which includes our complete trends list, our choices for top news videos of the year, the Trump Report Card, and our headlines for the top stories—these will all be available on Thursday for Part II when the audios are published. The link is in your subscriber links.

In the third week of January, in the Equity Overview, I will cover equity and financial markets and publish the first Blockbuster Chartology from Rambus for 2020.

In the final week, I will address our 2019 Annual Wrap Up theme: Deep State Tactics 101. I will publish the second half of our Deep State Tactics series begun during 2019 with the first five parts. In Let’s Go to the Movies, I will review the winner of the Solari Report Documentary of the Year for 2019—Harry & Snowman. Despite watching scores of more recent documentaries over the last year, I am reaching back several years for Ron Davis’ outstanding documentary with a message appropriate for the year ahead. From the Harry & Snowman website:

“Dutch immigrant, Harry deLeyer, journeyed to the United States after World War II and developed a transformative relationship with a broken down Amish plow horse he rescued off a slaughter truck bound for the glue factory. Harry paid eighty dollars for the horse and named him Snowman. In less than two years, Harry & Snowman went on to win the triple crown of show jumping, beating the nation’s blue bloods…. Their chance meeting at a Pennsylvania horse auction saved them both and crafted a friendship that lasted a lifetime.”

This is a story about the power of love—it’s the kind of power we want in our lives in 2020.

In Money & Markets this week, I will discuss the financial and geopolitical news and say more on what to watch for in 2020. E-mail your questions for Ask Catherine or post at the Money & Markets commentary here.

Talk to you Thursday
